Step 1: Initial Prep – Move/ Cover Furniture and Floors

The initial prep stage is the first step in our prep process. We start by removing small furniture, and moving large furniture to the center of the room. From there, we plastic and cover the furniture and the floors, to ensure proper protection from drips.

Step 2: Surface Prep – Scraping, Mudding, Sanding, Priming & Minor Maintenance (Most Important).

  • We at level up painting believe that the prep work is the most important aspect of any paint job. We start by checking each wall to ensure that all nail holes, chips, knicks and dings are properly mudded. We then allow the mud to dry, and will sand the surface to ensure a solid substrate. We will caulk any gaps, cracks, or holes that we see, to ensure that the surface is properly sealed.
  • If your walls has a glossy finish from the past we will scuff-sand the surface, which will stop flashing from happening

Step 3: Painting/Staining – Systematic Approach

  • At level up we take a systematic approach when it comes to painting, this helps our efficiency, and it helps you – the customer, with understanding the progress of the job. First, we start with the ceilings and trim, then we apply tape and paint the walls. Two coats will need to be applied if there are color changes.
  • Our goal is to complete each room 100% before moving to a different room.

Step 4: Clean Up – Daily and Thorough

We will clean up at the end of each day, and do a thorough clean up at the end of the job.

Step 5: Inspection – 3 Tier System

We have a 3 tier inspection process:

  • 1st the Job Site Manager walks around with the painters to ensure there are no touch-ups
  • 2nd The Job Site Manager will complete a DAILY walk around with YOU to ensure no touch ups.
  • 3rd We will then walk around with YOU before signing off or collecting any payments to ensure that you are satisfied.
