ABOUT LEVEL UP PAINTING

Level Up Painting is an exciting painting company owned by Jacob Rabideau and Clyde Miller. We both worked in a large corporate painting company for many years and didn’t like what we saw. Most companies have a top-down approach to business. In the painting industry specifically, we didn’t like the fact that most companies subcontract, use unskilled college labor, or work by themselves to complete jobs. That is why we decided to start Level Up Painting. Our mission is to revolutionize the painting industry for the customer, painter and the community we are a part of. We take a very bottom-up approach to the business. We think that if you take care of your employees, customers, and community, the rest will take care of itself. In that thinking, we do have $1,000,000 liability insurance, full workers compensation, and up to a 4-year limited warranty.

I am a Rochester native and have been in the painting industry for a decade now. I graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School and attended University at Buffalo, where I obtained a Bachelors in Mathematics and Economics and a Masters in Financial Economics. Some of my hobbies are playing golf, rooting on the 49ers, and woodworking.

While in college, I ran a painting franchise for 4 years. After graduating, I went to work for the corporation that I franchised with as a Recruiting Manager for a year and then General Manager for three years. I missed entrepreneurship and noticed many issues with the painting industry. I didn’t like that companies mainly hired either untrained college kids or subcontractors. My great grandfather and grandfather both ran their own painting business, and the industry has lost that professionalism and mastery that it once had. That’s why I decided to make a difference and start Level Up Painting. We want to change this and revolutionize the industry.

I am also a Rochester native. I grew up in Greece. I attended Hartwick College to obtain 3 degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Finance. While completing my degrees, I was a collegiate athlete playing Division 3 football. Some of my hobbies are playing the piano, hiking with my dog, and watching the Saints go to another Superbowl.

I have a similar track to Jake, running a painting franchise while in college and working my way up to Recruiting Manager, and eventually General Manager. My grandfather also ran his own painting business, and I too missed the entrepreneurial spirit and thought the industry could do better. I love the idea of the bottom-up approach to a company. That if you take care of your employees, customers, and community, the rest will take care of itself. That’s why I decided to join Level Up Painting and make a difference.
